Day one - the Grand 30 Day Experiment Begins
Setting up my iPad Pro was a dream come true. I am under the thought that the iPad is the future and will eventually replace the Macintosh all together. I will be using nothing but my iPhone and this ipad for the next 30 days to see if I can fully replace my Macintosh with my iPad Pro and make everything work for me on a single device.
Let me tell you... The iPad Pro is extremely responsive. What ever tech the good Apple folks placed inside this tiny lightweight ipad absolutely rocks. Things that in the past have been sluggish on all iPads are extremely quick and responsive. The battery life is impressive even while using it most of the day Sunday and all the time on the airplane flying
to Galveston Texas for a cruise with my family.
Yes this blog is going to start off with a family vacation, photos, videos and currently I am using a blogging app downloaded for the first time from the App Store yesterday... While on the plane.
I purchased the keyboard with my new iPad and it really is nice. I have never really used a keyboard with an ipad before and it makes a huge difference, especially with apps where I need to type allot. The onscreen keyboard is also very responsive but takes up half the screen on the 9.7" as it does on other iPads except the larger iPad Pro. I am thinking that to be able to completely replace my MacBook I am going to need to keep the keyboard.
My first gotcha..... Salesforce.
My company uses Salesforce exclusively for management of customers etc. One of the things I have yet to be able to do is create reports within the Salesforce app. When I switch to the online version it seems to want to emulate the ipad app rather than give me the real SF interface. I will continue to play with it but if anyone has any suggestions I would love that you share them with me.
Jumping in to do a quick update on Salesforce....
If a person copies and pastes the correct URL from the main Salesforce site then within safari it seems to let you go to whe whole SF page rather than SF mobile but when you click on certain links is causes the mobile page to pop up instead of the full blown SF interface. I think this is a SF website issue rather than an ipad issue.
